A team of assessors from the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) is scheduled to visit the University of California, Davis campus on July 7. The purpose of this visit is to evaluate various aspects of the UC Davis Police Department, including its policies, procedures, management, operations, and support services. This evaluation is part of the process for renewing the department’s accreditation.

The IACLEA accreditation is a significant recognition in campus public safety excellence. As part of this process, public comments are being solicited regarding the police department’s compliance with IACLEA standards. These standards can be reviewed on the IACLEA website at www.iaclea.org. Interested parties can submit their comments via email to jmurphy@iaclea.org or by phone at 530-752-7370 between 1 and 3 p.m. on Monday, July 7. A member of the assessment team will receive these comments.

The UC Davis Police Department first received its accreditation in 2021. Accreditation from IACLEA lasts four years and requires annual progress reports.

IACLEA is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization focused on enhancing law enforcement and public safety within higher education institutions. Established in 1958, it stands as the largest professional body committed to promoting excellence in public safety and security across campuses worldwide. The association offers resources such as training, research, advocacy, education, and professional services.
