UC Davis has been recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) with 36 “Best of District VII” awards. The honors were given for a range of campus initiatives, campaigns, and creative projects that highlight the university’s efforts in storytelling across its colleges and research centers.

District VII covers five Western U.S. states and two territories. The CASE awards celebrate outstanding programs and individuals, as well as campus-wide campaigns such as the “Year of the Eggheads.” Department-specific online magazines, video series, and other communications projects were also among those acknowledged.

In addition to these recent recognitions, UC Davis received 10 CASE Circle of Excellence Awards in July, including three Grand Gold awards.

A full list of award-winning projects is available on the CASE website.

Among this year’s “Best of District VII” winners are projects like the 30th Anniversary Egghead Collectors Cups in Design – Specialty Pieces; Aggie Eats: Tackling Food Insecurity at UC Davis in Videos: Fundraising and Stewardship (Long); Celebrating 75 Years of the School of Veterinary Medicine in Marketing: Branding (Department or Subunit); Behind the Dish: a Video Series in Marketing: Advertising (Online); Lunar New Year Kick Off Event in Special Events: In-Person (Single-Day); Recipes for Success: A Taste of UC Davis Stewardship in Fundraising – Donor Relations & Stewardship Initiatives; Saving Salmon on the Klamath River in Videos: News and Research; Weaving Facts Through the Complexity of Global Migration in Writing: News/Feature (1,000+ Words); “Year of the Eggheads” Campaign in Marketing Initiatives (More Than 25 Staff), among others.

“These awards recognize and celebrate outstanding programs and individuals, and highlight campus-wide campaigns, like the ‘Year of the Eggheads,’ as well as department-specific online magazines, video series and much more,” according to UC Davis officials.

The university continues to emphasize storytelling about its people and initiatives as an important part of campus life.
