Recent graduate Velize King from the California women’s soccer team has signed her first professional contract with A.E. Kifisia WFC, a Greek club. The announcement was made earlier this month.
“We are so happy and excited for Velize in achieving her goal of signing professionally,” said head coach Neil McGuire. “She is a top-level player and terrific person who will bring great style to Greece.”
King recently completed her best collegiate season, setting career-high records in various categories. She participated in all 21 matches, starting in two, and played 1,043 minutes—more than double her previous season’s record. King ranked third on the team for goals (3) and assists (5), and fourth in points (11).
A.E. Kifisia WFC competes in Super League Greece and holds its home games at Zirineio Stadium located in Kifisia, a suburb of Athens. The club was established in 2012 following the merger of former Greek organizations A.O Kifisia and A.O.K. Elpidoforos.
