A man wanted by authorities was apprehended after a standoff at his apartment in Guadalupe, California. The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, when officers from the Guadalupe Police Department responded to a domestic violence call at Escalante Meadows.

The suspect, identified as 35-year-old David Urias of Guadalupe, refused to exit his residence and did not allow his partner and three children to leave. It was discovered that Urias had an outstanding felony no bail warrant for his arrest. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office was called in to assist.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived with specialty units including K9s, the Special Enforcement Team, the Crisis Negotiation Team, and County Air Support. Drone support was provided by UAS Operators from the Santa Maria Police Department. After more than three hours of negotiations, Urias surrendered and was taken into custody.

Urias is being held at the Northern Branch Jail for his warrant and faces additional charges. The family members involved were unharmed during the incident.
