A Winters man was sentenced to 30 days in prison after pleading guilty to sexual assault during a flight from Seattle to Sacramento. U.S. Magistrate Judge Sean C. Riordan issued the sentence to Jeff Lorenzo, 40, for sexual assault within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.

Court documents show that on August 9, 2024, a 20-year-old woman boarded a flight and took the last available seat between Lorenzo and his co-worker at the back of the plane. During the flight, Lorenzo repeatedly touched her without consent, including grazing her leg with his hand, putting his head near her crotch while pretending to retrieve a dropped phone, and pressing his arm into her breast several times.

Lorenzo’s co-workers told authorities he had previously behaved inappropriately and harassed women.

“This case was the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole Moody prosecuted the case.”
