Having previously run for a U.S. House seat, Elizabeth Heng has set her sights on a larger prize, a seat representing the entire state of California in the U.S. Senate.

Heng, the daughter of Chinese-Cambodian refugees, serves as the CEO for a startup tech. A Republican from Fresno, she cites out-of-touch politicians whom, she argues, have allowed the rights of Californians to be stripped. Her news release states the COVID-19 pandemic and state policies are keeping children out of public schools and regulations are hurting businesses as politicians put themselves and personal comforts beyond those, they are tasked to serve.

“In California nearly 40 million Americans have spent the past year in semi-isolation," Heng said. "Most of these policies were ad hoc regulations that seem to have zero connections to public health. Democratic elites don’t follow them, of course – Just look at Gov. Gavin Newsom’s dinner at the French Laundry – but we have to.

"Families are struggling because they can’t send their children to school. Local businesses lost everything because they were forced to close. This is destroying the state we love."

Heng pledges to reopen the schools and reverse the policies that she says have damaged Californians.

Heng is a Stanford University graduate and previously worked as chief of protocol for the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
