Paul Tice, writer, analyst, and adjunct professor, asserts that the UN's aspiration to offer investment advice exposes a significant strategic drift due to its lack of financial expertise, highlighting a broader trend of pursuing control over the financial market. Tice was a guest on a recent episode of the Next Round Podcast.

“The point about the UN wanting to be your investment advisor,” said Tice on the Next Round Podcast hosted by the Pacific Research Institute think tank. “I think that probably is the worst example of strategy drift that you have at that institution over the last 80 years because clearly they have no place giving investment advice, ESG related or not.”

“They're not experts in finance, but that hasn't stopped the UN from trying to complete the last leg of the stool by basically taking control of the financial market,” Tice said. “That started back in 2006 when the UN set up Principles for Responsible Investment. which is basically deleting ESG Advocacy Group on Wall Street. It currently has 5,400 members.”

Tice has 32 years in fixed-income and credit markets, he's skilled in fund management and trading. He boasts 27 years of experience in energy and infrastructure investment, covering both buy-side portfolio management and sell-side research analysis. Tice contributes to publications like The Wall Street Journal and serves as an adjunct professor at NYU Stern School of Business, focusing on energy, infrastructure, and project finance.
