Santa Barbara, Calif. – Following a recent knife attack incident, Sheriff’s deputies have made significant progress in apprehending the individuals involved. According to the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office, a second juvenile has been arrested in connection with the attack that took place on February 27, 2024.

The sheriff's deputies are now seeking the public’s assistance in gathering any additional information related to the incident. As stated by the authorities, "Deputies believe there were additional juveniles involved in this attack and are reaching out to ask anyone with information to contact deputies at (805)681-4100."

The incident unfolded on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Turnpike Shopping Center, where deputies responded to a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, they discovered a male juvenile victim with a laceration to his hand. Subsequently, a 15-year-old male juvenile was found in possession of a concealed fixed blade knife and was cited for various offenses.

A separate 15-year-old male juvenile, identified as the primary suspect in the knife attack, was apprehended on Thursday, February 29, 2024, and booked at the Santa Maria Juvenile Hall for attempted murder. Sheriff’s deputies have emphasized the importance of gathering more information about other individuals involved in the incident.
