California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D., has released the latest Report of Registration as of October 21, 2024. The report indicates a record number of 22,595,659 eligible Californians registered to vote, marking an increase of 548,211 from the same period in the presidential election cycle four years ago.

The complete report is accessible online at sos.ca.gov/elections/report-registration/15day-gen-2024. Californians can verify their voter registration status online at voterstatus.sos.ca.gov.

The Report of Registration compiles data from California’s 58 county elections offices and includes voter registration details by political party, county, city, congressional district, state senate district, state assembly district, state board of equalization district, county supervisorial district, and political subdivision. It also provides statewide voter registration statistics by age group and county and historical comparisons to previous reports.

Key findings from the report show that Democratic registrations decreased slightly by 0.3% since 2020 to 10,355,081 or 45.8% of total registrations. Republican registrations increased by 0.8% to 5,638,209 or 25%. Registrations with No Party Preference saw a decline of 1.9%, now totaling 4,986,066 or 22.1%. Other parties like American Independent and Green showed minor increases in their share.

Upcoming deadlines for the November 5 General Election are available at sos.ca.gov/elections/upcoming-elections/general-election-nov-5-2024/key-dates-deadlines.
