Eben Lazarus has recently joined the faculty in the field of finance, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Lazarus, who prefers to be addressed with he/him pronouns, holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard, awarded in 2018, and a B.A. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, obtained in 2011.
Lazarus's research interests lie in utilizing financial markets to delve into the fundamental structure of the economy. He aims to tackle intriguing questions such as the volatility of risky asset prices and the insights this volatility provides into how individuals adjust their beliefs in response to new information. In his own words, Lazarus explains, "My research uses financial markets to answer questions about the fundamental structure of the economy. For example, why are risky asset prices so volatile, and what can we learn from this volatility about how people update their beliefs when they receive new information?"
Apart from his academic pursuits, Lazarus also shared a fun fact about himself, stating, "I love reading advice columns."
With his extensive educational background, research focus, and intriguing personal interests, Eben Lazarus is a valuable addition to the faculty in the finance department.
