Governor Gavin Newsom has praised the Biden-Harris Administration for their commitment to providing grant funding aimed at addressing humanitarian and security efforts at the southern border. In a statement released recently, Governor Newsom highlighted the importance of President Biden's efforts, stating, “Let’s be clear: President Biden is doing all he can to fund border security and humanitarian efforts while Republicans in Congress are choosing border chaos for political gain.”

The governor expressed concern over the actions of Congressional Republicans, accusing them of hindering safe and orderly processes at the border in favor of creating chaos for political reasons. He criticized the reduction of funding by Republicans, emphasizing the need for additional resources to tackle the challenges faced by border communities.

The state has been actively involved in providing grant funding to nonprofits offering shelter and support services to migrants processed by federal authorities in Southern California.
