The UC Davis Campus Recreation Aquatics Unit is offering a range of aquatic programs this summer, including both new and improved options. The unit has revamped its annual summer youth swim lessons to include children from less than a year old up to 15 years old. “Before, we targeted elementary students aged 5 to 8, but this year we’ve expanded the scope to reach from less than a year old to 15,” said Aquatics Coordinator Jocelyn Morgan. Registration for these lessons is now open through the UC Davis Rec Portal.

The UC Davis Rec Pool will also continue to offer lap swim hours, available to all students, faculty, staff, and community members who purchase a Rec Pool Summer Membership or Summer Pass. This program saw over 10,000 participants last summer. Passes are available for purchase until September 22nd. Single-day passes cost $5, with weekly, monthly, and full-summer memberships also available.

Outdoor Adventures, another unit of Campus Recreation, will offer low-cost excursions and programs such as summer rafting lessons and open kayak sessions at the Rec Pool every Wednesday night. Registration for these activities is now open through the Rec Portal.

Additional activities cater to specific age groups. Water comfortability classes for young children will be held this summer. Fit for Life will offer fitness programs for members aged 55 and up. More information on dates and times can be found on the aquatics website.

Students interested in getting more involved can apply for positions with the UC Davis Aquatics Unit for the summer and the 2024-2025 school year via Handshake or by emailing aquatics@campusrec.ucdavis.edu.
