A widely circulated video has surfaced, showing a University of California, Davis employee making offensive statements. The university has condemned these comments as deeply hurtful. While acknowledging that the employee’s remarks are protected under the First Amendment, UC Davis emphasized that they do not align with the institution's core values of respect and belonging.

Addressing the LGBTQ community specifically, UC Davis reiterated its commitment to providing a supportive environment. "To the LGBTQ community, UC Davis is a place where you should feel seen and supported," stated the university. In recognition of Pride Month in June, UC Davis affirmed its dedication to ensuring that this community thrives on campus.

The university highlighted its Principles of Community, which reject all forms of discrimination, including those based on gender and gender expression. Additionally, UC Davis pointed to resources available through its LGBTQIA Resource Center, such as the Trans Student Rights Toolkit.

When reports of discrimination or harassment based on protected identity are made, UC Davis assured that it promptly reaches out to affected individuals to offer support and resources while reviewing allegations under its anti-discrimination policy.
