Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 14-year-old male in connection with an animal abuse case that occurred on June 16, 2024, in Isla Vista, California. The incident involved the beating to death of chickens.
At approximately 2:37 p.m. today, a community member identified the suspect on El Greco near Embarcadero Del Mar and alerted the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded promptly, made contact with the suspect, and took him into custody. Upon detaining the juvenile, deputies gathered supporting evidence confirming his involvement in the case.
The suspect was subsequently released to his guardian, and the case will be referred to juvenile courts for further proceedings.
The Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude towards the vigilant community member who recognized the suspect and promptly reported it.
