Governor Newsom signs multiple bills addressing various issues

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced the signing of several bills into law. The newly signed legislation includes:

- AB 295 by Assemblymember Josh Lowenthal (D-Long Beach) – Residential real property: foreclosure.

- AB 1796 by Assemblymember Juan Alanis (R-Modesto) – Pupil instruction: course offerings: parental notification.

- AB 1854 by Assemblymember Pilar Schiavo (D-Chatsworth) – Service member protections.

- AB 1929 by Assemblymember Tina McKinnor (D-Inglewood) – Career technical education: data collection.

- AB 1982 by Assemblymember Devon Mathis (R-Porterville) – Firearm safety certificate: exemptions.

- AB 2011 by Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan (D-Orinda) – Unlawful employment practices: small employer family leave mediation program: reproductive loss leave.

- AB 2157 by Assemblymember Mia Bonta (D-Oakland) – City of Alameda Health Care District: certificates of participation: lien.

- AB 2173 by Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay) – Special education: emotional disability.

- AB 2197 by Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay) – Personal income taxes: Protect Our Coast and Oceans Voluntary Tax Contribution Fund.

- AB 2283 by Assemblymember Blanca Pacheco (D-Downey) – Civil actions: electronic service.

- AB 2367 by Assemblymember Alex Lee (D-San Jose) – Highways: supplemental destination signs: state special schools.

- AB 2521 by Assemblymember Marie Waldron (R-Valley Center) – Criminal procedure: confidentiality and DNA testing.

- AB 2771 by Assemblymember Brian Maienschein (D-San Diego) – Pupil attendance: schoolsite absence intervention teams.

- AB 2813 by Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry (D-Winters) – Government Investment Act.

- AB 2841 by Assemblymember Marie Waldron (R-Valley Center) – Controlled substances: Research Advisory Panel meetings.

- AB 2908 by Assemblymember Phillip Chen (R-Yorba Linda) – Shareholders’ meetings: remote communication.

- AB 3105 by Assemblymember Heath Flora (R-Modesto) - Employment wages and hours exemption for faculty at private institutions of higher education.

Additionally, the following Senate Bills were signed:

- SB949, Senator Catherine Blakespear's bill on superior court lactation accommodation

- SB1024, Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh's bill on healing arts board licensees and registrants

- SB1034, Senator Kelly Seyarto's bill on California Public Records Act in a state of emergency

- SB1190, Senator John Laird’s bill on mobile homes solar energy systems

- SB1353, Senator Aisha Wahab’s Youth Bill of Rights

- SB1385, Senator Richard D. Roth’s Medi-Cal community health workers supervising providers.

Governor Newsom also vetoed one bill:
