California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D., has issued a reminder to Californians who missed the October 21 voter registration deadline for the upcoming November 5, 2024, General Election. Despite missing this traditional deadline, these individuals can still register and vote using "Same Day" voter registration at their county elections office or any voting center in their county.
"If you missed the traditional voter registration deadline, you still have an opportunity to cast a ballot," said Secretary of State Weber. She encouraged those needing "Same Day" registration to visit early voting locations or county elections offices before Election Day to reduce wait times and ensure their participation.
Eligible citizens can complete the "Same Day" voter registration process by filling out a form and receiving a ballot at any in-person voting location within their county. These ballots will be counted once the voter registration verification is completed by the county elections office.
The "Same Day" voter registration is available through Election Day on November 5, 2024. Voters with questions about this process should contact their local county elections office.
