The UC Davis football team is set to compete for the Big Sky Conference championship this Saturday, November 16, against Montana State at the UC Davis Health Stadium. The winner of this match will also secure the conference's automatic qualification for the NCAA FCA Playoffs. UC Davis currently holds a No. 4 ranking, while Montana State stands at No. 2.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m., and attendees can look forward to an eventful first half featuring a version of the Picnic Day favorite, Doxie Derby.
UC Davis boasts an unblemished record in Big Sky Conference play, having won all six matches. Their recent victory was a decisive 30-14 win over the University of Montana, which was broadcast nationally on ESPN. This performance earned them the Stats Perform FCS National Team of the Week title.
On an individual level, several players have achieved notable recognition. Quarterback Miles Hastings is being considered as an All-American candidate, while Lan Larison leads all running backs nationwide in both receiving touchdowns and yards.
