The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is set to display 11 decorated pumpkins at Trunk-or-Treat events across the county. The pumpkins are part of an annual decorating contest where team members from various departments compete for the "Crowd Favorite" prize. This contest is supported by the Sheriff's Managers Association (SMA) and the Deputy Sheriff's Association (DSA).

Commander Raney, President of SMA, expressed enthusiasm about the event: “It’s a treat to see the creativity of our employees and to hear their screams of support as they rally around their creations in the race for the coveted Crowd Favorite trophy.”

Corydon Mathews, DSA Executive Director, highlighted the importance of community engagement: “The DSA is proud to support such a fun event that highlights the creativity of our members. Not only is it a fun competition and morale builder for our troops, but it is an opportunity to connect with the community during spooky season.”

The pumpkins will be showcased at three upcoming Trunk-or-Treat events. The public is encouraged to attend these events and vote for their favorite pumpkin.

The schedule for these events is as follows:

- Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Santa Barbara Elks Lodge Community Hot Rod Project Trunk-or-Treat, located at 150 N. Kellogg Ave, Goleta.
