On December 3, 2024, Congressman Sherman highlighted his extensive service on the Foreign Affairs Committee. He stated, "I should note that I’ve served on the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives for 28 years and have served as chair of its Asia subcommittee."

Later that day, Sherman expressed his concern over violence against minority communities in Bangladesh. He tweeted at 19:48 UTC: "The #Bangladesh government has a duty to protect all citizens, particularly the minority #Hindu community, against violence. I am outraged by recent attacks against Bangladesh's Hindu community and urge Bangladesh's government to take serious action to end anti-Hindu violence."

In another tweet posted at 22:11 UTC on December 3rd, Sherman commended South Korea for upholding democratic principles. He wrote: "The people and the parliamentarians of #SouthKorea stood up for democracy and prevented a coup."
