Governor Gavin Newsom, First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and the California Museum have inducted the 18th class of the California Hall of Fame in a virtual ceremony. This year's inductees are an all-women posthumous group recognized for their contributions to athletics, civil rights, culinary arts, entertainment, and other fields. They join over 100 Californians previously honored for embodying the state's innovative spirit.

The inductees include Julia Child, a renowned cook and television personality; Ina Donna Coolbrith, California’s first poet laureate; Vicki Manalo Draves, an Olympic gold medalist; Mitsuye Endo, a civil rights activist; Dian Fossey, a primatologist known for her work in gorilla conservation; Alice Piper, a civil rights hero; and Tina Turner, a celebrated singer and performer.

The California Hall of Fame was established in 2006 to honor individuals who have made significant contributions across various sectors such as arts, business and labor, entertainment, food and wine, literature, music, public service, science, and sports. Inductees are selected annually by the Governor and First Partner.
