The California Secretary of State's office has announced plans to conduct a randomized alphabet drawing. This event will determine the order in which candidates' names appear on the ballots for the upcoming special primary elections in Assembly District 32 and Senate District 36. The drawing is scheduled for January 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
The drawing will take place at the Secretary of State's Office located at 1500 11th Street, Sacramento, California. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be streamed live via Zoom. Media representatives interested in attending virtually can RSVP to SOSPress@sos.ca.gov to receive Zoom credentials.
This process is part of standard procedures to ensure fairness and transparency in elections by randomly determining ballot order.
