California Attorney General Rob Bonta has expressed support for Governor Gavin Newsom's recent executive order, which prohibits evictions for individuals who provide shelter to survivors of the Los Angeles wildfires. In a statement released today, Bonta emphasized the importance of community support during these challenging times.

“These are extraordinary times. If you provide shelter to someone who has been impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires, you should not be evicted. Allowing that to happen would be flat-out wrong. I share the Governor’s commitment to protecting our neighbors through this crisis,” said Attorney General Bonta.

The executive order aims to protect those offering refuge from facing eviction, acknowledging the critical role they play in supporting affected individuals during this emergency.
