On February 3, 2025, Rep. Torres expressed her gratitude to the California National Guard Pomona Armory by presenting them with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol. She stated: "It’s an honor and privilege to present a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol to the CA National Guard Pomona Armory. I’m deeply grateful to our brave men and women who tirelessly protect our communities from the fires—their dedication and sacrifice don’t go unnoticed."

Later that day, Rep. Torres addressed economic concerns regarding international trade policies initiated by former President Trump. She joined other House Democrats in calling for an end to certain tariffs, stating: "I joined 43 House Democrats in demanding an end to Trump’s reckless 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada. These tariffs are a direct hit on American businesses, consumers, and our economy. The administration must stop playing politics with our livelihoods.”
