On March 18, 2025, Congressman Sherman announced the introduction of new legislation aimed at facilitating investment in small and medium-sized businesses. In collaboration with Representatives Huizenga, Garbarino, and Bynum, he introduced the Access to Small Business Investor Capital Act. The proposed legislation seeks to simplify the process for business development companies investing in U.S. enterprises. Sherman described him as a welcoming presence who strengthened communal ties with Jewish traditions. Later that day on March 19th, Sherman commented on international politics by critiquing Turkish President Erdogan's impact on Turkey's economy through actions perceived as undermining democracy. "By undermining democracy, Erdogan undermines Turkey’s economy."
