On Feb 27, 2024, the university introduced Liz Gálvez as the newest addition to its faculty in the field of architecture. With an impressive educational background including an M.Arch. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S.D in architecture with a minor in philosophy from Arizona State University, Gálvez brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the institution.
Described as a registered architect, Gálvez is known for directing Office e.g., and for her role in teaching courses on design and environmentalism. She divides her time between the San Francisco Bay Area and Michoacán, Mexico, where she engages in architectural practice. Gálvez's research interests lie in the intersection of architecture, theory, and environmentalism, with a particular focus on re-examining building technologies.
