The School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis has once again achieved the top spot in U.S. News & World Report's latest rankings for professional and graduate programs, maintaining its position as the leading institution for veterinary medicine in the nation. This consistent ranking aligns with its position in the QS World University Rankings by Subject, released in the previous month.
The U.S. News & World Report updated its rankings for several disciplines in the 2025 edition of the Best Graduate Schools. The School of Medicine at UC Davis is noted for its excellence in primary care training, placing 17th for graduates practicing primary care and being recognized as one of the top institutions for medical research. Additionally, their public health specialty is ranked 27th among all schools.
The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing's master's degree program is placed 19th among public schools and 30th nationally, evaluated among 146 programs surveyed from nearly 700 accredited nursing schools. Its physician assistant program ranks 35th nationally.
UC Davis's College of Engineering is rated 19th among public universities and 34th among both private and public institutions, with particular strengths in biological/agricultural, civil, and environmental engineering. Furthermore, the College of Letters and Science holds several disciplines in top positions nationally, including psychology (tied for 14th), English (tied for 21st), economics (tied for 24th), political science (25th), history (tied for 25th), and sociology (tied for 36th).
