California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced the arrests of 27 individuals for allegedly soliciting prostitution as part of an undercover sting operation targeting sex buyers. The operation, which took place on March 22, 2024, in the city of Sacramento, aimed to combat human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
Attorney General Rob Bonta emphasized the importance of addressing human trafficking, stating, “Human trafficking and sexual exploitation destroy lives. We’re fighting to hold perpetrators accountable, help survivors get a fresh start, and uplift vulnerable Californians.”
The operation involved undercover deputies who interacted with potential sex buyers. Upon arriving at the designated meetup location, the sex buyers were apprehended by law enforcement. In total, 27 arrests were made for soliciting prostitution, with all individuals booked at the Sacramento County Jail.
Bonta expressed gratitude for the partnership with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, highlighting the collaborative effort in combating human trafficking. He stated, “When we work together, we get results, and we are thankful for our partnership with Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.”
