A Buellton woman was taken into custody following an alleged attempted murder incident involving her boyfriend on March 30, 2025. At about 1:58 a.m., a deputy located a male with stab wounds on Highway 246 at Valley Station Road. The man had injuries to his shoulder, hip, chest, back, and hand. He identified his girlfriend as the assailant, who was present in a nearby residence.

While police were assisting the injured man and managing his bleeding, the alleged suspect, Lydia Alicia Gonzales, a 40-year-old, exited the residence and began throwing cans of beer at the deputies. Despite her aggressive behavior, officers safely restrained Gonzales and placed her under arrest.

Gonzales faces charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and domestic violence. She is currently being held at the Northern Branch Jail with bail set at $1,000,000.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
