SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced several key appointments in the state of California.
Edina Lemus, a Democrat from Santa Clarita, has been appointed as the Administrator of the Veterans Home of California, Lancaster. Lemus brings a wealth of experience, having served in various roles within the California Department of Veterans Affairs and as an English as a Second Language Teacher. Her compensation for this position is $121,596.
Soo Lee Davis, registered without party preference from Sacramento, has been appointed to the Governor’s Military Council. Davis, a former U.S. Army Colonel, currently works as an Associate Fiduciary and Consultant. Her position on the council does not come with any compensation.
Anissa De La Cruz, a Republican hailing from Clovis, has been appointed as the Warden of Central California Women’s Facility. De La Cruz has been serving in various capacities within the corrections system and will now take on the role of Warden. Her compensation for this position is $187,884.
Dawn Clover, a Democrat from Sacramento, has been appointed as the Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs at the California Department of Human Resources. Clover's extensive experience in legislative affairs and government relations will be valuable in her new role, with a compensation of $148,008.
These appointments do not require Senate confirmation, and each individual brings a unique set of skills and experiences to their respective positions.
