SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced a series of appointments in various capacities across the state of California.
David Briggs, from Oakland, will join the California Earthquake Early Warning Advisory Board. According to the announcement, Briggs brings a wealth of experience from his roles in the water industry, including at the East Bay Municipal Utility District and the City and County of San Francisco.
Heidi Rummel, hailing from Los Angeles, has been appointed to the California Committee on Revision of the Penal Code. Rummel's background as a Clinical Professor of Law and her tenure at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law make her a valuable addition to the committee.
Renee Armendariz Barker, a resident of San Carlos, has been reappointed to the State Board of Pharmacy. With a strong background in pharmacy and healthcare, Armendariz Barker has been serving on the board since 2022.
Andrew Tavakoli, based in Beverly Hills, will now serve on the Exposition Park and California Science Center Board of Directors. Tavakoli's extensive experience in business and leadership roles will be beneficial in his new position.
Heather Bernikoff, representing Catheys Valley, has been appointed to the California Exposition and State Fair Board of Directors. Bernikoff's background in conservation and healthcare will bring a unique perspective to the board.
Adrienne Mohan, a resident of Long Beach, has been appointed to the San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy. Mohan's experience in conservation and stewardship will be instrumental in her new role.
