California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D., has announced that over 5 million registered voters in the state have signed up for the ballot tracking service "Where’s My Ballot?" This service allows voters to receive automated notifications about their vote-by-mail ballots via email, text, or voice call.
"Signing up for ‘Where’s My Ballot?’ is one of the most prudent steps Californians can take to protect their vote," stated Secretary Weber. She emphasized that this service enhances transparency, accountability, and voter confidence during the election process. All active registered voters received a vote-by-mail ballot for the General Election and are encouraged to sign up at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov.
Weber highlighted the widespread adoption of ballot tracking across California and urged those already enrolled to encourage others to join. The service provides automatic updates when a voter's county elections office mails, receives, counts their ballot, or encounters any issues with it. Additionally, subscribers receive important communications regarding election deadlines and polling place changes.
Voters can check their registration status online at voterstatus.sos.ca.gov. Key dates include the opening of ballot drop-off locations on October 8 and early voting centers in 29 counties starting October 26. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by November 12.
