CARE Court, a pioneering initiative aimed at assisting individuals with untreated or undertreated schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, is now operational in every county across California. This program is part of Governor Newsom's broader effort to transform the state's mental health system by providing necessary treatment and housing.
Governor Newsom also provided an update on a joint law enforcement operation in Bakersfield. Since its launch in April, the operation has led to 2,040 arrests, recovery of 804 stolen vehicles, and seizure of 61 illicit firearms. This initiative is part of a larger strategy to enhance public safety through partnerships with the California Highway Patrol.
To address digital disconnectedness among older adults, the California Department of Aging collaborated with Older Adults Technology Services and AARP to introduce the 'Digital Connections' program.
