We must redouble our efforts to prevent gun violence."

Later that day, Sherman reflected on a meeting with former President Donald Trump while visiting Pacific Palisades. He discussed the suggestion he made to exclude building materials from tariffs, which he believed would ease the burden on fire victims. However, he noted disappointment with the lack of follow-up on the matter by the President's staff. "When #DonaldTrump came to the #PacificPalisades, I urged him to exclude building materials from any future tariffs. He said he’d give it serious consideration, but his staff has been unwilling to discuss this, and now the fire victims are victimized again by the President."

On April 20, 2025, Sherman participated in a community event focused on disaster preparedness at Pierce College. Co-hosted by the West Valley Warner Center Chamber of Commerce, the fair was organized to educate the public on emergency readiness. Congressman Sherman expressed his enthusiasm for partaking in this initiative.
