California Attorney General Rob Bonta has announced that the California Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Anaheim, California. This investigation, conducted under Assembly Bill 1506 (AB 1506), concerns an incident that took place on December 27, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., involving the Anaheim Police Department and resulting in the death of one individual.

The DOJ's California Police Shooting Investigation Team commenced its investigation following notification by local authorities. In accordance with AB 1506 requirements, this investigation will be independently reviewed by the DOJ’s Special Prosecutions Section within the Criminal Law Division once completed.
