On April 15, 2025, Rep. Torres took to social media to express the importance of community engagement in Eastvale, California. She stated, "It’s always a pleasure to connect with our Eastvale community and hear directly about the issues impacting their daily lives." Emphasizing the fragility of democracy and the rule of law, she warned of the risks posed when due process is overlooked, contending that everyone may be at risk as a result.

In a subsequent post on April 17, 2025, Rep. Torres shared her appreciation for a visit to the San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center. She commented, "Grateful to have visited @SGPRC_ORG today and hear firsthand how they’re empowering over 15,000 individuals with developmental disabilities across the Pomona Valley." Acknowledging their comprehensive support from early intervention to housing assistance, she praised the organization's daily impact on the community.

Later on the same day, Rep. Torres noted a tribute event for Sergeant Jess Gomez, Jr., honoring his service and impact. "The family of Sergeant Jess Gomez, Jr. gathered to honor his life," she wrote, acknowledging his contributions as both a Vietnam War veteran and an active community member in Pomona. She mentioned that Jess Gomez, Jr.'s legacy is now preserved in the Congressional Record.

Rep. Norma Torres, originally from Escuintla, Guatemala, has a distinguished political career with key roles in both the California State Assembly and Senate, before her tenure began in the U.S. Congress in 2015. She holds a BA from the National Labor College.
