Rep. Norma Torres, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 35th district since 2015, recently shared her views on several important issues through a series of tweets. Torres, originally from Escuintla, Guatemala, and now residing in Pomona, California, has a history of public service dating back to her time in the California State Assembly and Senate.

On January 23, 2025, Rep. Norma Torres marked the anniversary of a landmark Supreme Court decision by tweeting: "Today marks 52 years since SCOTUS recognized the right of women to control their own bodies with the #RoevWade decision. Reproductive care is health care. Americans deserve the freedom to make personal decisions about their bodies, lives and futures. Let's protect these rights."

In another tweet posted on January 24, 2025, Torres expressed her concerns about transparency within government agencies: "It's completely unacceptable and disturbing that the US Capitol Police Chief withheld this information from members of congress. #zeroconfidence"

Later that day, she addressed recent policy changes regarding diversity programs: "Ending DEI programs is a step in the wrong direction. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are about ensuring equal opportunity for all Americans. We should be working to unite our country, not dismantle progress."
