Governor Newsom appoints 14 new superior court judges across California

Governor Gavin Newsom has announced the appointment of 14 new Superior Court Judges across California. The appointments cover several counties, including Los Angeles, Modoc, Riverside, San Diego, San Mateo, Tulare, and Ventura.

In Los Angeles County, Phu Nguyen will fill the vacancy left by Judge Louise Suzette Clover's retirement. Sonia Dujan will replace Judge Margaret Oldendorf. Mike Madokoro steps in for Judge Gregory Keosian. James Montgomery Jr. takes over from Judge Yvette Palazuelos. Jacob Yim fills the position vacated by Judge Carol Elswick. Helen Yang succeeds Judge Michael Linfield, and Louis Parise replaces Judge Martin L. Herscovitz.

Randall Harr is appointed to the Modoc County Superior Court following the retirement of Judge Francis W. Barclay.

In Riverside County, Mickie Reed takes over from Judge Gregory Olson while Michael Martin fills the vacancy left by Judge Irma Asberry.

Chandra Reid joins the San Diego County Superior Court after the retirement of Judge Kenneth Medel.

Mark McCannon will serve in San Mateo County Superior Court following Judge Marie S. Weiner's departure.

Jason Taylor is appointed to Tulare County Superior Court succeeding Judge Walter L. Gorlick.

Finally, Amy Van Sickle is named to Ventura County Superior Court after the retirement of Judge Patricia M. Murphy.

Each appointee will receive a compensation of $244,727 annually for their roles as judges in their respective courts.
