On March 5, 2025, Sherman expressed his views regarding a recent presidential address to Congress. He described it as "the most partisan presidential address to Congress in American history." He humorously added advice to Trump about baldness: "Bald is beautiful."

He clarified that "most deaths occurred in the 1800s when a French company unsuccessfully tried to build the canal," emphasizing that during U.S. construction efforts, the majority of fatalities were among Caribbean workers.
