Josselin Castillo, who serves as the principal of federal government relations for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), addressed the audience of the Mottek on Money program on April 16. The program, aired on KABC 790-AM in Los Angeles, focused primarily on a significant concern for small businesses—the potential expiration of the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction at the year's end, which could lead to increased taxes for over 30 million small business owners.

Castillo emphasized the urgency of the matter, stating, “We’re diving a sense of urgency because D.C. likes to wait until the last minute.” He stressed the critical need for stability and certainty for "small business owners" who are a crucial part of the "U.S. foundational economy." Castillo made it clear that "we really can’t wait" for action to be delayed by Congress.

On a previous occasion, March 24, NFIB President Brad Close also highlighted the significance of maintaining the Small Business Tax Deduction during his appearance on the same radio show. This was the second time since September of the past year that Frank Mottek, the program's host, had interviewed Close on the tax issue which is crucial for small businesses.
