Uc Davis Health System issued the following announcement on Dec 10.
For her extraordinary efforts to arrange a birthday party for a terminally ill patient, Natasha Palmer was recognized with a DAISY Award. She made sure the patient’s wife and loved ones had a true and meaningful celebration of life, even though that patient was likely to pass on his birthday. Her motivation to create that space and opportunity for a moment of grace comes, in part, from her own experience with a nurse during the final moments of her father’s life.
Hear Tasha’s story, in her own words.
In celebration of Florence Nightingale's 200th birthday, 2020 is the Year of the Nurse. Beginning on National Nurses Week (May 6-12) and continuing throughout the year, a special blog will feature the stories, memories and motivations of UC Davis Health nurses.
