Rep. Devin Nunes reacted to the vote of moving forward with former President Donald Trump’s impeachment.
Nunes told Sean Hannity, Fox News, that the second attempt to impeach Trump is similar to what happened the first time, stating that the Democrats cannot support their allegations.
“They just don’t have any evidence,” Nunes said. “They haven’t had any evidence for five years. They corrupted the intelligence agencies. We just did an impeachment a year ago and the same thing holds true today.”
He further argued that specific information should be presented such as who broke the windows in the Capitol Building, and interviews with the rioters, and the importance of due process.
“We should know how many people entered that Capitol. We should know whether they talked to Donald Trump or anybody from the White House.”
Nunes also implied that the Democrats are threatened by Trump.
“What’s really happening is the radical left who’s total in control of the government now, they don’t want Donald Trump to win again, they fear his rallies, they fear that 74.5 million voted for Donald Trump.”
The impeachment is a Capitol circus and hypocrisy of the House impeachment managers who are conspiracy theorists, according to Nunes.
“They relentlessly attack Republicans and the president,” he concluded.
