Congressman Brad Sherman, representing California's 32nd district since 1997, has taken to social media to express his views on various international and domestic issues. Sherman's tweets have drawn attention for their commentary on the Iranian regime and recent actions by Elon Musk.
On March 7, 2025, Congressman Sherman criticized the Islamic Republic of Iran for its treatment of singer Mehdi Yarrahi. In a tweet, he stated: "The Islamic Republic is so desperate to suppress the voices of the Iranian people that they have flogged singer Mehdi Yarrahi - just for singing a song. The Ayatollah’s henchmen resort to such absurd cruelty because they know the majority of Iranians oppose their regime."
Later that day, Sherman commented on business magnate Elon Musk's involvement in air traffic control matters. He tweeted: "In addition to Trying to fire air traffic controllers, Musk's efforts have led to the Actual firing of the employees that maintain the air traffic control equipment."
On March 9, Sherman acknowledged International Women's Day by honoring Iranian women fighting for freedom. His tweet read: "On International Women’s Day, we honored the brave Iranian women who have risked and lost their lives to fight for freedom in Iran."
